However the Pepsi Super Bowl LIII Halftime Show will take place on Sunday February 3, 2019 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia and the super bowl game will be televised nationally on CBS network.
The 2019 Super Bowl LIII is the NFL championship deciding game of the 2018-19 football season. As the name implies it will be the 53rd of such fixtures to be played as the NFL championship deciders. The city chosen to host Super Bowl LIII is Atlanta, Mercedes-Benz Arena, Georgia.
It is the third time that Atlanta has been given the honor of playing host to the Super Bowl final. The first final to be played there was Super Bowl XXVIII in 1994, and then Super Bowl XXXIV in 2000. Both finals were played in the Georgia Dome. The new Mercedes – Benz Arena will host the event for the first time in its short history.
Playing host to any Super Bowl is an honor to any city, with the NFL tending to select the city three or four years before the event is due to take place. Cities are asked to bid to host the Super Bowl final, with the NFL selecting one bid from one of four bidding cities. Atlanta had to beat bids from Miami, New Orleans, and Tampa. There has already been a change to the next super Bowls as the new stadium in Los Angeles will not be ready in time for hosting the 2020 final.
